Short version: I use business contact details to offer local trades a website and help with Google reviews. I don't sell or share your details for anyone else's marketing. If you'd rather I didn't contact you, reply "no thanks" or email me and I'll stop straight away.
Who I am
SimpleDesignX is run by Chris Tyldesley. I'm responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact me at christyldesley@simpledesignx.com.
What information I use
- Public business information: your business name, trading address, phone number, Google rating and reviews, and the services and areas you list publicly, for example on your Google Business Profile or Companies House.
- What you send me: your name, business name, phone number, email address and anything you write in the website form, an email or a message.
- Notes from our conversations: for example, whether you'd like a demo and when we last spoke.
Why I use it
- To build a demo website for your business and show it to you.
- To contact you about my website and review services. For limited companies I do this under legitimate interests. For sole traders and partnerships I only send marketing emails or texts once you've agreed to them.
- To reply to enquiries and, if you become a customer, to provide the service and keep business records.
Demo websites stay private: they're hidden from search engines and only shared with you.
Who I share it with
I use a small number of services to run the business: Google Workspace for email, and Netlify to host websites and receive form enquiries. They process data on my behalf. I don't sell your information or pass it to anyone else for marketing.
How long I keep it
- If we don't end up working together, I delete your details within 12 months of our last contact.
- If you ask me not to contact you, I keep only your business name and contact details on a "do not contact" list, so I never contact you again by mistake.
- If you become a customer, I keep records for as long as needed for the service and for tax purposes (usually six years).
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to me using it for marketing at any time. Email christyldesley@simpledesignx.com and I'll respond within a month.
If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
